I believe our identity is inexplicable because what we really are is Love. Love is beyond what can be taught or even explained. It is beyond measure, beyond human comprehension; it is only something we can feel because it is something we associate with truth and sometimes even a higher power. In learning our mission, life becomes motivating because then it is just a matter of acceptance, forgiveness, and love. All of which are simple to understand, but easier said than done. The problem arises when people forget their true identity and holy function. They begin to create obstacles to distract themselves from looking within. Their materialistic minds seek outside for the petty little meaningless toys that eventually fail them. They confuse pleasure with pain, love with desire, and continuously seek unhealthy, destructive relationships that only cause more damage due to mutual selfish ulterior motives. The essential ingredient to everlasting happiness is unconditional love and that is incredibly lacking in a world filled with people who are constantly trying to boost their own ego instead of letting it go.
Consequently, when purpose and identity have been forgotten, there grows a gap in every person living in this world. A hole-so vast and vacant, some people fill it up with drugs, alcohol, and pre-marital unsafe sexual relationships to feel worthy. Children fill this void with Barbies, action figures, fake guns, and fake jewelry to feel valuable; to make themselves feel special. Others feel the hole is so great nothing can fill it with happiness and so they choose to take their own lives.
I believe the true purpose of Life is to realize there is no hole and that if anything, we put it there ourselves. It does not exist in reality but only in our minds. It is our insecurity; it is the indication of our belief in idols instead of God. For those who don't believe in a Higher Power then whatever you believe is your Source is essentially what is Real and True and Eternal. Whatever the case, we're always worshiping something. If it's not something greater than yourself, then chances are, your worshiping yourself in some shape, way, or form. Indeed, we put particular individuals on pedestals and worship them instead of seeking within and finding the answers; the answers to life, truth, identity, and purpose.
Until we discover our identity and purpose, we will be unhappy. It is discoverable, for it is within. We kept the secrets to our happiness deep inside never to look back on them because we feared they would save us. We must learn this is not something to fear but something to celebrate.
This I believe.
