At first, I was slightly upset with myself for attending a spiritual conference the weekend before my college final exams. The mundane affairs of daily life stressors appeared to be more important to me. A few of my friends were even asking why I would partake in such a conference the weekend before my very last final exams ever. However, I felt deeply guided to do so and coming out of this enlightening conference, I could not be any more content with myself and my life. I am thankful to my Inner Guidance for giving me this eye-opening experience. I will listen to this Higher Voice more and more from now on...
Certainly, you may feel the world outside you is beyond your control. But really, the way you treat others is merely a reflection of how you feel about yourself. In other words, if you see the world as messed up, then you're gonna treat everyone as if they're messed up and feel even more messed up in return. However, If you see beauty and hope in a flawed world, then you are gonna bring out beauty in a flawed person while giving them hope that they too can bring out the same in you and everyone else. You'll feel even more beautiful and hopeful in the process...Indeed, you may not be able to control everyone's actions or attitudes but you can always control your reaction to everything that happens to you. This is important because it is our reactions that ultimately shape the life we live.
I make no more excuses for how I spend my time. I make no more attempts to throw my spirituality to the side. We all believe in something and we are all on a journey that is too important to be overlooked. We all lead busy lives but whatever faith tradition or spirituality you follow requires the application of such Holy lessons instead of the mere utterance of such Holy words. I have repeatedly made the mistake of spending more time talking about my Faith than actually living it. Indeed, my spiritual beliefs are inherently manifested in my daily words and actions but it is not enough for me to exemplify it if I'm not giving myself enough time to exercise it.
At the end of the day, it's all about focusing most on what matters. Nothing matters more than yourself. Once you spend enough time mastering yourself and are in unity with your identity and purpose, everything else follows. I know I will prepare myself for finals no matter how much lack of sleep it costs me...Because from experience I know, i can sleep for hours upon hours and wake up feeling even more tired than before if I feel empty inside. But when I am One with my Identity and Purpose, One with my Faith, One with my Creator, then I can stay up for days without sleeping yet feel even more Awake than ever before...Such is Life, Such is Truth. Such is the Power of You~
